Clutter Challenge for the Week of Oct 5, 2009
Three Focus Areas
Because clutter can be overwhelming very quickly we often find ourselves moving about, picking up, putting away and rearranging all day long. Give yourself a break.....Choose THREE areas of your house or apartment that you will call your Three FOCUS areas. Yours may be different than mine. Choose areas you want to keep looking picked up on a regular basis. After you have chosen your three areas, make a conscious choice to pick up these areas every evening before you go to bed. Dedicate 10 minutes of your time. Use the timer if needed. This way, if these areas get messy or cluttered during the day you know you will be taking the time at the end of the day. Why make yourself crazy doing it over and over again all day or telling yourself you need to do it and then never getting to it. If once a day isn't enough for you, do it twice. The idea is to give yourself permission to let go during the day knowing you will spend 10 minutes at bedtime to straighten up your three designated areas. My areas are the kitchen table, around my bed and the living room. The entrance way is a good area as well, if you have one....................Happy dancing.

My three areas are going to be my kitchen counter, my bathroom counter, and my living room!!!
ReplyDeleteMy three areas are my entry way, Drop leaf table, and kitchen sink! I can keep the counters clean but those dishes are a struggle.
