Christmas CLUTTER!

As I was pullling out our Christmas decorations, I couldn't help but thinnk about this blog. What a cluttery messy!!!! I have decided it is time to CLEAR THE CLUTTER. Here is what I am going to do to fix this situation:

1) Donate, hand down or toss any decorations that I don't use or are broken.

2) Purchase some plastic tubs with red and green lids to storage christmas decorations (got this idea from my mother in law, she uses orange ones for fall and halloween and red/green for Christmas, that way it is easy to tell which ones to pull out.)

3) Purchase christmas light spools and actually use them (I know I am spending some money here, but it will save so much head ache later and actually save me money by not having to buy new lights since they always seem to get broken while thrown in a box)

4) Not sure about all of you, but I somehow seem to accumulate christmas baskets. I am going to gert rid of extra baskets by baking goodies and handing them out in baskets during our family caroling this year.

Lets hope I can get organized this year to make future Christmas decorating time easier!!!

  1. Yay Sheena! I got a bunch of bins too at JoAnn's the day after Thanksgiving. And when I pull decorations out this year, I am going to do the same thing. I did it a little when I cleaned out my garage this summer, but it never helps to do it again. I have something that I really enjoy: It's a bin for ribbons that lets you thread the ribbon through it. It keeps it organized and there is a little blade attached to it that lets you cut your ribbon. I'm sure you can find them at Wal-Mart right by you. I'll post pictures of the bins I got. And GREAT idea on the baskets. Then you don't feel like they are going to waste. I want to hear how it goes for you!

  3. This is a good idea!! I might have to wait a bit on this one, unfortunately, I don't really have any christmas decorations!! They put in a Tai Pan trading close to my house, maybe I will get a few things.
